August 16, 2022Victor Harbor Road duplication – work on the new carriageways has started
In May 2022, temporary traffic barriers were installed along the eastern edge of Victor Harbor Road between Main South Road and McLaren Vale to ensure the safety of workers and road users and to allow traffic to continue to flow during construction.
With the barriers now installed, the majority of works will be constructed ‘offline’ behind the protection of temporary traffic barriers.
August 15, 2022Work forges ahead on Victor Harbor Road Duplication
Major works are accelerating on the Victor Harbor duplication with the aim to improve road safety and reduce travel times.
Construction of the new lanes of Victor Harbor Road (between Main South Road and McLaren Vale) commenced after the installation of temporary traffic barriers in May 2022. The new carriageway is being constructed alongside the existing road, behind the barriers.

On World Environment Day 5 June 2022, members of the Fleurieu Connections Alliance joined with Biodiversity McLaren Vale to help plant over 1,700 locally indigenous plants at the Biodiversity McLaren Vale Field Day at Shingleback and Red Knot Winery.
Well done to the team and amazing crew of volunteers at Biodiversity McLaren Vale for such a well organised and attended event despite the rain!

The health of vines within the McLaren Vale region is vital to the local community and the wine and tourism industry. The Alliance is engaging with Vine Health Australia and local vineyards to ensure our work methods and practices prevent the transmission of disease and protects the health of vines, as well as other horticultural activities, animal husbandry and cropping and grazing activities.

Information on how the project will be constructed, with a key focus on sustainable road construction, along with drone and time-lapse photography and early works.
