The new Agricultural Machinery Underpass, which will run under Main South Road in Aldinga, has had a major breakthrough.
Businesses in the Main South Road and Victor Harbor Road project footprint were recently invited to a strategic marketing workshop hosted by the Fleurieu Connections Alliance. The workshop aimed to help southern businesses prepare for the potential increase in visitors to the area when the Victor Harbor Road duplication and Main South Road Stage 1 duplication open.
A southern men’s shed will be able to expand and enhance its essential service to the community thanks to the support of workers on the Fleurieu Connections Alliance.
The stories and cultural knowledge of the original inhabitants of the Fleurieu Peninsula—including a rich history of fishing—will soon come to life along the Main South Road Duplication project.
The new Tatachilla Overpass on Main South Road is now open to traffic. Traffic can travel a single lane in each direction over the overpass, which is located at the intersection of Tatachilla and Maslin Beach Roads. The remainder of the new traffic structure, including an east/west signalised intersection underneath, will open in late 2023.
The new four-lane Pedler Creek Bridge on Main South Road opened to traffic in October, replacing the old two-lane bridge. Two lanes on the eastern side of the bridge are now open while works on the western side are completed. The former bridge, built in the 1960s, will now be dismantled. Read article below.
